Therapy That Moves You Forward
So much of the pain we hold comes not just from what we've been through, but from never having a space to talk about it freely.
No judgment. No having to translate your experience for someone who doesn't get it. No defending who you are.
If you're navigating sexuality, addiction, a relationship, or feelings that run deeper than you can name, you deserve care that actually meets you where you are.
I've been there. And I built this space for people like us.

Specialty Services:
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
What is ART?
A short-term treatment designed to help you process and resolve distressing memories quickly — often in just 1 to 5 sessions. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART doesn't require you to describe painful experiences in detail. Instead, it uses guided eye movements and imagery techniques to help your brain reprocess difficult memories, reducing their emotional intensity while keeping the facts intact.
How it works
During a structured, therapist-guided session, you'll be asked to bring a specific memory or trigger to mind while using a set of gentle techniques to change how that memory is stored — replacing the distressing images and sensations with more neutral or positive ones. You stay in control throughout, and you never have to share details you're not comfortable discussing out loud.
ART can help with:
PTSD
Trauma
Anxiety
Phobias
Panic Attacks
About:
Connection Through Shared Experience
Paul Hassell, LCSW
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but I'm also someone who has been where you are.
Hassell Counseling is for people who have never quite fit the mold, who've hidden parts of themselves to survive, who are exhausted from going at it alone. Here, none of that is necessary. You can show up as you are.
I know what it feels like to carry shame you didn't ask for, to wrestle with addiction, to navigate a world that doesn't always make space for people like us. I also know, from lived experience, not just a textbook, that healing is possible, that addiction is manageable, and that a more fulfilling life isn't just a nice idea. It's within reach.
Whatever you're carrying, you don't have to translate it or justify it here. This is a space for everyone and you belong too. Together, we'll work to find self-compassion and real connection.
I won't sugarcoat it, therapy can be a rough journey. But you won't be trying to find answers on your own anymore. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and yes, maybe even scream. What matters is that on the other side, you start to recognize the life you actually want — and believe you can have it.
I would like to help you do that!
I look forward to meeting you
